Dr. Eng. John DENG DIAR DIING is an infrastructure development expert and leader with a diverse background in project management, public policy, and environmental assessment. He holds a PhD in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University, where he was a distinguished Edward S. Mason Fellow and an MSc in Management of Projects (Construction) from the University of Manchester.
Prior to ascending to the helm of the NCTTCA, Dr. John was the Deputy Director of Infrastructure Development and Management at the Northern Corridor Transit & Transport Coordination Authority (NCTTCA) Secretariat in Mombasa, Kenya.
He also served as the Director for Projects for South Sudan Roads Authority where he was instrumental in managing strategic road development projects. Additionally, Dr. John served as Managing Director of Horizon Real Estate Construction Company Ltd, overseeing significant construction projects in South Sudan.
Dr. John has a strong foundation in organizational strategy, stakeholder management, and leadership. He has been recognized for his contributions to the field with several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Eric Yankah Award from Harvard Kennedy School and a Chevening Scholarship.
Bringing 35 years of experience in technical, managerial, and leadership positions across government, civil society, private sector, and international non-governmental organizations. Bernard is an active member of the Alliance for Health Promotion, becoming President in 2012.
Most recently the Deputy Executive Director and Director of Policy and Advocacy, Research Promotion, and Communications for the International AIDS Society.
Bernard previously spent 17 years with the International Co-operative Alliance as Director of the Regional Office for East, Central, and Southern Africa.
Dr. Samoel Ashimosi Khamadi is a Senior Principal Research Scientist working at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and is currently the Director for the Centre for Virus Research (CVR) at the institute. He has over 22 years’ experience working in the field of Infectious Diseases and Implementation Science Research with an output of over 100 Publications published in peer-reviewed journals. He has a PhD in Molecular Medicine, and Master’s degrees in Public Health, Business Administration and Immunology.
He has worked with the Ministries of Health in Kenya and Tanzania and International Collaborating agencies such as CDC and Walter Reed in advancing research in infectious diseases and is actively engaged in the Design and implementation of public health interventions in diagnostics, disease outbreak and surveillance.
He is also actively engaged in teaching and mentorship of Master’s and PhD students at various Universities in Kenya, Tanzania and The Democratic Republic of Congo. He also heads the Surveillance and Outbreak Response Unit of KEMRI.
Aggrey Aluso is the Executive Director of Resilience Action Network Africa (RANA) and Africa Regional Director at Resilience Action International (RANI), where he is driving the emergence of a bold, Africa-centric advocacy hub championing a globally relevant resilience agenda across pandemic preparedness, climate-health intersections, and equitable global health governance.
With more than 20 years of experience, Aggrey is a seasoned social justice advocate known for advancing citizen-led, rights-based approaches to structural and systemic health inequities. He previously led the Health & Rights program at the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa, steering regional advocacy and OSF Africa’s COVID-19 response to push for fair access to vaccines, diagnostics, therapeutics, and intersectional justice.
He has held influential roles at Terre des Hommes, the University of Manitoba’s Global Public Health Institute (supporting Kenya’s Ministry of Health), and Plan International Kenya, where he built the organisation’s inaugural advocacy and campaigns portfolio.
Aggrey holds an advanced degree in Gender and Development from the University of Nairobi, and professional credentials from INSEAD, the University of Johannesburg, and TCA.
Dr Joyperis Kiambi serves as the Social Enterprise Manager at LVCT Health, leading innovative initiatives that bring together wellness, mental health, and social impact. A medical doctor by training, she has built her career around preventive and promotive health, focusing on helping people and organizations move beyond treatment to achieve true wellbeing.
In her current role, she has been instrumental in integrating mental wellness into corporate and community programs embedding it within the WEMA by LVCT Group wellness package. Her work reflects a deep commitment to creating spaces that prioritize psychological safety, resilience, and sustainable personal growth.
With a passion for youth empowerment, she advocates for connecting mental health and sexual and reproductive health (SRHR) as two sides of the same conversation. She believes that when adolescents understand how their emotional wellbeing shapes their relationships and decisions, they are better equipped to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Her approach to wellbeing is grounded in empathy and authenticity, reminding young people that caring for their minds and bodies is not just about health, but about unlocking their potential and thriving with purpose.
Amukune Ambuyo is a hands-on entrepreneur and growth practitioner with a decade of experience as a Growth Marketing Lead, specializing in strategy, scale, and cross-border innovation. He is the founder of a globally active marketing agency, maintaining regional hubs in Kenya, Rwanda, and the US, and supporting operations across more than 20 countries.
Amukune’s current work emphasizes the strategic and practical implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the marketing and operational technology stack. His expertise includes leveraging generative AI for content scale and applying AI-driven predictive analytics to optimize market entry, consumer segmentation, and resource allocation for maximum sustainable growth in complex international environments.
Stella Gitia is a Project Management Specialist with a Social Worker and Counselling background. Over the last 20 years, she has spent her time leading transformative public health programs across Kenya. She has championed high-impact, sustainable prevention interventions in HIV, Gender-Based Violence, SRHR and Mental Health, spanning both public and private sectors. She currently serves as a technical lead for Mental Health programs at LVCT Health.
Her work revolves around innovating and adapting mental health interventions that can be integrated within other health services and programs that target marginalized and vulnerable populations. She has led the integration of Mental Health services for Gender and Sexual minority and implemented Interpersonal Therapy for Groups IPTG for adolescents and young women seeking HIV prevention in DREAMs projects as well as capacity building for Health Care workers offering HIV services to screen for Mental Health across all LVCT-supported counties in Kenya.
She also curates Mental wellness packages for workplaces in the private sector through the LVCT Social Enterprise. She is a WHO-certified Trainer of Trainers in quality MHPSS and an alumnus of the Africa CDC Mental Health Leadership and Advocacy program. Stella is passionate about the mental well-being of children and adolescents and young women, especially those in school. Beyond her professional work, she finds joy in travel and in connecting with nature through nurturing plants and animals.
Magdalene Wanza Muoki is the Country Director for Terre des Hommes Netherlands in Kenya, where she leads efforts to prevent and eliminate all forms of child exploitation while strengthening children’s voices in policy and practice. She has over 17 years of experience in international development and humanitarian action across Kenya and Somalia, spanning child protection, gender equality, refugee programming, disability inclusion and youth empowerment.
Magdalene is a strong advocate for meaningful child participation in addressing protection risks and shaping solutions that affect them. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies and has contributed to key publications on children’s work and labour in East Africa.
